Guacamole

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 15min.

Guacamole is a great appetizer of Aztec origin. It’s very popular here in Spain. It’s usually served as a dipping sauce for nachos, that you can buy in many different flavors. My favorites are the chili and cheese ones, but I especially like to mix different flavors in a bowl. What Bouchon really likes is to melt cheese on the nachos first.

I don’t like to buy Guacamole already prepared so much, because I think it’s too smooth and liquid. I prefer to prepare it myself, like this I can mix it as thoroughly as I want. Also it takes just a few minutes and doesn’t need cooking or anything!!

French Olive and Bacon Cake

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 60min.

I made this cake the other day when our friends Saskia and Lasse came over for dinner. It’s a specialty from Marseille, in the South of France. It’s easy to make, the only trick is to NOT add salt because the olives and the bacon are very salty already!

Green Beans with Bacon

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 10min.

This is a dish you can prepare in a few minutes. I use it as main dish usually but you can also serve it as a side dish, with meat for example, or accompanied by potatoes. It’s not a fancy recipe, but it’s simple.

Baked Potatoes with Camembert and Honey

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 40min.

I tried to find a word to say “gratin” in English, but the only translation I found was “sliced potatoes baked with milk and browned on top”. It’s not really a gratin per say because it doesn’t have cream or milk, but it’s really similar. So well, this recipe is based on potatoes and cheese. It HAS to be tasty !! Do I have to add that it’s way easy?!

Spinach Lasagna

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 60min.

Today’s recipe is “Spinach Lasagna”. This recipe is vegetarian and can be modified and adapted to your taste easily. It’s one of the plates we love to eat with Bouchon, because his father brings us fresh and ecofriendly spinaches from his vegetable garden and we both love pasta and cheese. Also we are trying to eat vegetarian (and healthy and diet…) as much as possible, but it’s not always easy to find tasty veggie recipes. I think this one is a must in the category!!

Check it out and let me know if you like it!

Greek Salad

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 10min.

This recipe of Greek Salad is probably not conform to the original, because I am used to adapt recipes to my taste, so sorry in advance if that’s the case!!! Anyway, it’s really really easy and tasty.

Quiche Lorraine

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 50min.

Today, I’ll show you how to make the traditional “Quiche Lorraine”. This recipe is one of the easiest and fastest I know and it’s probably the meal I cook the most often! It’s a typical dish from my homeland, maybe that’s why I love it so much…
