Baked Potatoes with Camembert and Honey

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 40min.

I tried to find a word to say “gratin” in English, but the only translation I found was “sliced potatoes baked with milk and browned on top”. It’s not really a gratin per say because it doesn’t have cream or milk, but it’s really similar. So well, this recipe is based on potatoes and cheese. It HAS to be tasty !! Do I have to add that it’s way easy?!

Baked Potatoes with Camembert and Honey

Ingredients

  • 5 potatoes
  • 1 Camembert cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 onions
  • 150g (5.3oz) of bacon
  • salt, pepper, garlic and parsley

Instructions

  1. Cut the potatoes in quarters and boil them for about 10 min.
  2. Meanwhile, in a pan, fry the onions with the bacon.
  3. Spread the mixture of bacon on an oiled oven plate and then spread the potatoes on top.
  4. Cut the Camembert cheese in 2 and place it on top of the potatoes (crust upward). Cover with the mix of salt, pepper, garlic and parsley.
  5. Place in the pre-heated oven for about 10 min at 200ºC (392ºF) to melt the cheese.
  6. Pour the honey all over the plate and place once more in the oven for another 10 min.

You can serve this plate with green salad and a nice red wine.

Have a nice dinner!

  1. First time I read about pouring honey and leave in the oven for 10min more. I have to try it. Else, you can use honey for the onion frying stage, it is yummy too ;-)

  2. yes, it’s a nice touch :) I like it a lot!!
