Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting

This recipe is a classic. I got it from my bestfriend’s nanny, but adapted it a bit to my taste by adding more chocolate and the frosting… There is never enough chocolate!!!
Ingredients
- 200g of dark chocolate
- 140g of sugar
- 4 eggs
- 10g of butter
- 70g of flour
- 20cl of cream
Instructions
- Melt 150g of chocolate in the microwave with a spoon of water, and then add the yolks, the butter and the sugar. Add the flour at last.
- Whip the eggwhites until stiff.
- Mix very slowly and carefully the chocolate mix with the eggwhites.
- Pour in a greased oven tin and bake in a pre-heated oven for 30 min at 170ºC.
- To prepare the frosting, melt the rest of the chocolate in the microwave and add the cream. Then spread over the cake.
PS: You can also slice the cake in two layers through the middle and add a layer of chocolate frosting, but in this case, let it cool in the fridge before cutting.
