Mini Orange and Chocolate Triangles with Hazelnuts
Difficulty:

Preparation time:
3h.
This recipe is based on the typical dough used for many kinds of cakes and cookies: 1 measure of icing sugar, 2 measures of butter and 3 measure of flour. The icing sugar makes it easier to knead the dough. The result was pretty good. The triangles tasted good and were very beautiful. Next time, I want to try with pistachios instead of hazelnuts, I think it will give it even more color and originality!

Ingredients
- 200g of butter
- 100g of icing sugar
- salt
- 1 egg
- 300g of flour
- 1 tablespoon of orange zest
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
- grounded cinnamon
- grounded cloves
- 100g of dark chocolate
- 50mL of cream
- 20g of chopped hazelnuts
Instructions
- Mix well the butter with the icing sugar and a hint of salt. Add the yolk and the flour. Mix well.
- Divide the dough in 2 equal parts. Knead one half with the orange zest and the other half with the cocoa, a hint of cinnamon and a hint of clove. Let both doughs stand for about 2h in a cool place.
- Cover a baking tray with baking paper and spread the orange dough on it.
- Whip slightly the eggwhite and spread it on the dough. Cover with the cocoa dough.
- To prepare the frosting, melt the chocolate in the microwave with a bit of water and add the cream. Then spread over the cake.
- Cover with hazelnuts and bake in a pre-heated oven for 15 min at 180ºC.
