Small French Chocolate and Coffee Cakes
Difficulty:

Preparation time:
45min.
I made the little cakes the other day to bring to Bouchon’s dad place. They actually seemed like a typical chocolate cake, but I really love the touch of expresso in them! I think it would taste even better served with an English cream.

Ingredients
- 100g of dark chocolate
- 120g of sugar
- 6 eggs
- 100g of butter
- 2 teaspoons of instant coffee
- 100g of grounded almonds
- salt
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave with a spoon of water, and then add the yolks, the almonds, the coffee, the butter and the sugar. Mix well.
- Whip the eggwhites until stiff with a hint of salt.
- Mix very slowly and carefully the chocolate mix with the eggwhites.
- Pour in 12 greased ramequins and bake in a pre-heated oven for 30 min at 180ºC.
Enjoy!

I have a question about this recipe.
I was wondering, does it relate to french at all?
Because i have a project, and i would like to make this recipe for my French classmate to try.

Hi Lia,
Maybe this recipe is not the most typical French dish. You should try preparing crêpes or meringues instead :-)
