Chocolate Crepe

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 10min.

This chocolate crepe recipe is really easy to prepare. The only trick is in cooking the crepes, but it takes just one or two trials to master the technique. No matter how many times I tried, the first crepe is always useless (my mom always told me to throw the first out so it’s not just me…). Anyway the recipe described here is not only for sweet dessert crepes but also for salty “galettes“, as we call them in Brittany. You can fill them with whatever you like really, from ham and cheese, to strawberries and chocolate. If you prefer plain crepes, you can add sugar to the batter, and even a bit of Grand Marnier for the taste!

Breton Shortbread Chocolate Cookies

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 2h.

Those cookies were really awesome. I love the shortbread texture and they tasted good too. I guess if you are not used to it, they might seem a bit dry, but they are ideal to be served with tea or coffee. You can try to add more or less chocolate on the cookies too. I usually like to prepare a really intense chocolate icing, but it’s up to your taste. Let me know how you liked them!!

Chocolate Fondant

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 45min.

This recipe of chocolate fondant is for 2 persons. You have to make them individuals and you’ll need muffins tins for that. Chocolate fondants are usually served hot, either on their own, either with custard or whipped cream. You can dust them with icing sugar or icing cocoa. What I like the most is to serve with them with ice cream because I love the hot/cold sensation!

Creamy Leek Soup

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 50min.

Now that winter is coming, with Bouchon we both have this crave for hot soups and we also like soups because they are vegetarian and healthy. This one is a bit of a fatty one though I guess, with all the cheese, cream and oil… But hey you have to fight winter cold somehow!! By the way, I know it looks exactly the same as my Vichyssoise, but it’s different =)

You probably noticed by now that I have been struggling with the pictures of this blog, blaming my iPhone or the light for the bad quality of the shots. Well today I’m gonna admit that I actually failed at preparing a nice looking gratin!! However I can assure you that it was really tasty! Once again this recipe is vegetarian and quite easy, although it takes some time to prepare it. Just try it, you won’t regret it…

Endives, Roquefort and Walnuts Salad

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 10min.

Endives (or chicory) can be cooked or used raw in salads. I actually really rarely eat them cooked, but I LOVE them raw. They are a bit bitter, and match great with cheese, especially the blue ones. This recipes of endives is a typical french recipe, with Roquefort cheese and walnuts.

Strawberries with Sugar

This is probably the easier recipe in the world! It takes advantage of the natural ability of strawberries to get juicy when you sprinkle sugar on them.

Spinach Risotto

Difficulty: difficulty leveldifficulty leveldifficulty level

Preparation time: clock 40min.

Today’s recipe is again a vegetarian one, with one of my favorite ingredients: spinaches. This recipe is great to vary a bit from plain white rice, and it looks nice too with the green color. It is a prefect side dish.
